Secret Chocolate Bar Buy


Secret was a chocolate bar that was manufactured by Rowntree Mackintosh during the 1980s and the 1990s that was popular in the UK. It consisted of a bird's nest-styled chocolate coating with a creamy mousse centre similar to the filling of a Walnut Whip. It was packaged in a gold-coloured wrapper with the product's name printed on it in purple and white.

A television advert for the product, first shown in 1990, and set in a 1940s mystery film style featured an elegant lady riding a train when a man rushes into her cabin and hands her a Secret bar saying, "guard this with your life". He then runs off to divert the two mysterious men who've been following him, but while he's away, the woman eats the secret bar because she couldn't resist such a delicious temptation. When the man returns to retrieve it, it's gone, because she had eaten it. At the end of the advert the words accompanied by a voice-over says, "You can't trust anyone to keep a Secret."[1] The product was discontinued a couple of years later, due to high production costs and low volume of sales.


In more recent years there have been a number of petitions, on websites such as Facebook, asking Nestlé to relaunch the Secret bar.[2] This has not happened as yet, but similar petitions held for the Cadbury's Wispa chocolate bar, which was discontinued in 2003, eventually led to its relaunch on October 8, 2007.[3]


Because of this, I feel it is time to show Nestlé Rowntrees that there is enough public support to desire a relaunch of the much desired Secret chocolate bar, possibly even more so now than ever before due to the retro and hipster movement that has taken the nation by storm.


We appreciate how Open Secret Unjunked chocolate bars are a truly healthier alternative to regular chocolates. They taste fresh and have the distinct jaggery sweetness. We liked the coconut variant better, the rating is for the same.


While coconut has nutty flakiness, caramel has a characteristic gooey texture. As we know, good quality chocolate has that smooth mouthfeel and no gritty/grainy textures. What was our experience with Open Secret like?


The brand mentions the ingredients of the milk chocolate coating and center filling separately. The outer coating is made with jaggery powder, milk solids, cocoa butter, cocoa solids, and emulsifiers (INS 322, INS 476) and the filling contains a blend of desiccated coconut powder, jaggery, and oligofructose.


As part of our review process, we cut the bar in half to collect visual data. A generous portion of grated coconut is covered in a sturdy, chunky yet soft layer of jaggery-sweetened milk chocolate. The milk chocolate has that decadent smoothness and the coconut filling features a grated texture.


It is a chocolate brown-colored bar with the characteristic bright white color of coconut meat in the centre. Our taste buds were delighted on tasting this un-junked chocolate bar. Straight-up scrumptious! This chocolate-coconut pairing is delicious. The milk chocolate has that distinctive cane sugar-like sweetness coming from the use of jaggery. The coconut filling is sweetened with jaggery and tastes fresh.


We observed a delightful chocolatey aroma and here comes the details of the taste test. While the chocolate bar tastes fairly decent, the key difference lies in its sweetness. Jaggery imparts a distinct cane-like sweetness which was tasted here. There was also a mild bitterness that comes from roasting jaggery. Sweet, slightly bitter, and buttery- this classic caramel flavor profile was reflected well in the chocolate bars.


Though these have similar calories as chocolates sweetened with sugar, the use of jaggery makes it better in terms of nutrients. For those who like dark chocolates or have a low-sugar tolerance might not like these.


As Greenspan was preparing to leave, though, her friend surprised her at the door. "Martine handed me a small package, kissed me on both cheeks and gave me what could only be called a 'Mona Lisa smile.' What she'd given me was a Nestle chocolate bar! I was so puzzled that I could barely get 'thank you' out of my mouth when she turned the bar over."


It's simple, versatile and delicious. Most important, it's no longer secret. "Like my French friends," Greenspan says, "this is the dessert I turn to all the time. But unlike some of them, I'll give you my recipe. It's my Valentine's Day present to you."


To give the mousse a mocha flavor, add 1 tablespoon strong coffee to the bowl with the chocolate to be melted. Alternatively, you can add another flavor when you whisk in the egg yolks; such as 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract, 1/2 teaspoon pure almond extract, 1/8 teaspoon pure peppermint extract or a drop or two of pure orange oil.


The chocolate bar can be found in 6 places. It can be bought in The Shop, randomly found in The Cave entrance, or found in a pile of trees near the village (secret location). And 3 chocolate bars will be rewarded to you by the Squirrel for answering his 5th question correctly. You can also get a chocolate bar by throwing 1630 candies on the ground. A pain au chocolat can be crafted for a chocolate bar and a hundred candies in The Castle's big room. It may also be found near the bottom of The Hole, after defeating the 4 Lost Tribe Warrior, you can access the chest behind them.

The Secret chocolate bar was made by Nestle in the 80's and 90's and was one of the most delicious treats ever. It had a sort of bird's nest chocolate outer layer with a creamy mousse center similar to the inside of a Walnut Whip. They came in a white protective card sleeve and apparently had a gold wrapper with the word Secret written on it in purple. The television advert featured an elegant lady sat on a train eating her Secret bar 'in secret' with the accompanying music "I see her face everywhere I go... Have you seen her?..." Unfortunately the Secret chocolate bar was withdrawn from sale due to the high production costs and low volume of sales.
